SLJ Task 12

L.I to help others when they meet something new. For task 12 we had to make a brochure that would help people that go to other countries. On the brochure had to be things to do at the island. A brochure is a poster that is smaller, less photos, more text and is easy to put in you pocket.

SLJ Task 11

L.I to learn about Muhammad Ali. For task 12 we learnt that Mahatma Ali Changed his name since he changed his name for this task we had the choice to change our name to anything I would change my name to Isaiah because it is the name of my favorite basketball player Isaiah Thomas.

SLJ Task 10

L.I to learn about Venus and Serena Williams. For task 10 we had to watch a video about Serena and Venus Williams. They both play tennis. We had to find three facts that we learned that was in the video. Facts about the sisters: Venus William won Wimbledon in 2005. Serena Williams wanted equal pay and play for both women and men. Serena has won $80 000 000, Winning 23 grand slams. 

SLJ Task 9

L.I to support other people to achieve their dream. For task 9 we had to ask a family member or a friend what their dream job is. We then had to brainstorm six ways I can support them to achieve their dream job. My dream job is being a rugby player and my friends dream job is being a doctor.

SLJ Task 8

L.I to interview a famous person. For task 8 we had to research about Lebron James or Steven Adams or someone that plays basketball. I researched about Lebron James. I interviewed him and asked some question that were not able to be answered in his bio.

SLJ Task 7

L.I to do good things. For task 7 we had to read about Jonah Lomu and Richie Mccaw. Afterwards we had to write down three powers that we would like to have and reason what we would use them for. I made a video of me telling you what powers I would have. Two facts about Jonah Lomu is that he is the youngest All Black ever. Jonah Lomu finished his international career with 63 caps and 37 tries. Two facts about Richie Mccaw is that he won the world cup twice for New Zealnad as captain. He is the most capped test rugby player of all time.

SLJ Task 6

L.I to be more brave. For task 6 we were to write a paragraph on one thing that we or someone we know that did something brave. Going on the fear fall was scary. I wrote about the time that I went on the fear fall at rainbow ends.

SLJ Task 5

L.I to imagine what it would be like to step on the moon. For task 5 we had to get into creative mode. We had to write a poem that is about how we feel if we had stepped on the moon. We could do any type of poem. We had to write how we felt if we were stepping on to the moon. For me it would be scary at first but maybe it is not too bad.

SLJ Task 4

L.I to learn about differences. For task 4 we had to research about Jean Batten and Amelia Earhart as we are doing a venn diagram about their differences. If I had to compare or find the differences between me and the two I would be really good at sport but not flying. I had researched about Amelia and I was surprise to see that she wrote the bestselling book that was about her flying experience.

SLJ Task 3

L.I to learn about charity. For task 3 we had to pick a charity and we had to summarize what they do into a small paragraph. I picked SPCA because they are raising money for pets. I made a poster for people to donate money or even adopt a pet to help them out. SPCA is a charity that takes care of animals.

SLJ Task 2

L.I to look back at how we got here. For task 2 we had to talk about our cultural background. We had to use a google map and tag the places where your family comes. from. I am from Samoa. My mum comes comes from __ and my dad comes from Vailima which are villages that are in Samoa. My dad told me that when European came to Samoa they wanted the land. The chiefs from villages didn't like them so they made a group. They stopped the Europeans from taking over Samoa. I am thankful for where I come from.

Summer Learning Journey

        L.I to learn what things we can take on boats. For the first activity we had to research about perishable and non perishable food. Researching the meaning of this helps us with finding food that we can last and take on a boat rip. We had to imagine that we were one of the people that sailed the sea with Nanoa. Nainoa Thompson has used the ancient Polynesian way finding skills to navigate around the world. In 2013, Nainoa led a crew across the Pacific Ocean on two large canoes. In 2015 Nainoa and his crew had arrived at Aotearoa (New Zealand). They journeyed and visited the Manaiakalani Schools in Auckland.

Doc Ranger

L.I to learn about DOC Rangers.
So for one of the task on the SLJ (summer learning journey.) So we have to talk about listing three pros (good things) and three cons (bad things) about working as a DOC ranger. So the three good things of being a DOC Ranger is that you get to see and feel what the animal life is about and you get to see different animals and the bad things about being a DOC Ranger is that they can attack you and kill you and just harmful things and they will be bad animals.

Headless Ed

L.I to share what we can do.
My beast's name is Headless Ed. One of the activities for Summer Learning Journey was to make your own beast. My Beast can trap you in his imaginary dark room and make you unconscious. My Beast is covered with scars because of its fierce battles. It is really tall and hairy.

Cacti Math Problem


L.I to share what we know to others in need.
For this task we had to answer this math problem about how much you are to put in the in cacti. The problem was pretty had to find because it was about how much we are to put in a cacti for a year. So we had to do either a slide, video or a google draw.

Fabulous Ferns

For this task we had to name three NZ sports teams that had the word fern in them and take photos of them on the post and we have to say what fern uniform I like from #1 to #3, so this is my favorite uniforms in order. Silver Ferns, White ferns and Tall ferns.

Tāne Mahuta Tree

L.I to express what you feel to location.
For this task we had to tell other of if we want to go to the Tāne Mahuta Tree and I would really like to go because of how many years old it is and I have not been to any special tree. Tane Mahuta tree because it would be great to see a tree that is apart of New Zealand's history I hope I would get to visit the Tane Mahuta.

Digital Footprint

For the task we had to write down things that can keep you online safe and smart, and these are the ones that I chose because they were the only ones I can think of.  So I manage to write down the stuff I had learned in the past because our class has been learning about safety online. So the people that read my blog post should learn the safety rules in our school and what we do to never get in danger on that internet.

Homeland

I am Andrew and I live in Otahuhu, this place is a cool place to eat and have fun because of the many parks that are near the shops. I have fun playing at the parks mostly the park next to the Mc Cauley. `We have lots of things to do such as play on parks, eat some food and to the pool that have hot tubs and outside pools.

For the summer learning journey we had to do activity's in the holidays to keep you on track. For the activity that Im doing "Top 3 fun facts about NZ." and I chose: New Zealand was once governed as part of the territory of New South Wales and later a part of Australia, it was the first major nation to have universal suffrage, in 1893 all male and female citizens are legally allowed to voted and New Zealand is one of the world’s least populated countries with over 4 million populations.
