Cuchulainn


LI: to identify the purpose of narratives.
For reading we were learning about legends/myths/fairy tales. We were all learning about what Cuchulainn did and look at to different story to see if they are real. The story that i read is on the slide also the link is on the slide with the story. We also learnt about Cuchulainn.

Art

On Monday we were doing art which is sihlouette. We had to get a cityscape and go over all the buildings and water with black blocks which is shown on the photo. We got to choose when we finished and Our teacher prints the sihlouette what colors we are going to use hot a\or cold colors i used hot colors witch were red,orange,yellow and we also printed out or city's that we made and we needed to cut it out and then we had to plan a background for our city to go on and once we did that we could blog about it.

Area & Perimeter



L.I use a formula to calculate the area of rectangles and squares. For maths we were learning about Area and Perimeter. These are what we used to do the ask given to us. We also learnt how to use perimeter and area watching video on the group slide.  So we first had to get into partners then we had to watch the area and the perimeter video after that we had to write about it on a google drawing with your partners then we were given a google drawing to write the answers of the areas and the perimeter shapes.

Catapults


LI: To learn about technologies that overcome earthworks fortifications.
For inquiry we had to learn about structures in war which is all the structure that the allies used in WW1 - 2. Today we had to chose a topic and we had to talk about catapults and we had to make a presentation about three different things about catapults. Catapults were often used for taking down walls and sometimes used to throw thing over to enemy base but they were mostly used for breaking walls of bases.

Persuasive Structure


LI: to identify the structure and language features of a persuasive text.
On Thursday we were doing Writing and for writing we were learning about the type of writing persuasive writing. We had to learn about this writing and use what we learnt about what was emotive word-devices are and cause and effective words. We had to finished this task which is the photo.

keyboarding

For daily 6 we have to do 6 task they are: Basic facts, keyboarding, pixel art, hand writing, basic fact plus and minus and SSR selfie. The one that i am doing is keyboarding. This is a very good way to learn how to write properly. This is also a good way to use all of your fingers to type.

Tables conga

This week for my can do slot I did tables conga, for this game you have to collect the numbers of the times table that you choose. You also have to avoid the x's that follow a programmed pattern to try and catch you.Today I did some table conga and That is a math game that you can do to learn Multiplication and when you complete it then you get an award that is a trophy and then you can practice the rest of your multiplications.The key was to get all of the numbers that comes after 2 like 2 4 6 8 10.Like counting in 2's.

Bridges around the world


L.I Compare and contrast Panmure Bridge to a Local equivalent

For inquiry we were learning about structure around the world. This week we are doing bridge but next week we are going into different groups in the class. One group is going to One teacher and the other goes to the other teacher. We have to make a google map about five New Zealand bridge and international bridges.

Procedural reminder


LI: to identify the structure and language features of a procedural text.
For wrinting we were learning about the writing, procedural. Procedural writing is a writing that tell people how to do things such as origami, food recipes and directions to go somewhere. The structure is TEMPS. Title, end result, Materials, picture, and steps.

Maui lessons


LI: to identify the purpose of narratives.
LI: to identify the underlying morals/themes/explanations in myths, legends, and fairy tales.
For reading we were learning about what are myth, legends and fariy tales. this week we were learning about the myth maui. We were all learning about what maui did and look at to different story to see if they are real. We also learnt how the south island was made and it was made from a big as fish.

Kiwi Sport

For kiwi sport we were learning new swimming tactics to survive. The tactic that i am going to explain is the facing up sculling. The facing up sculling helps you move slow to land but you hardly get tired. The facing up sculling is floating facing up and using hand movement to control and move the body. This is a safe tactic if you fall out of a boat or fall in the water because you won't get tired. We also did other things like: Making a whirlpool, Sculling on back head first, no noodle, Floating on back with noodles, Floating on front with noodles and Sculling on back.

Types of angles



L.I to identify and construct right, acute and obtuse angles
L.I to begin to appreciate the degree, unit of measurement of angle
L.I to know the degree value of angles that are simple fractions of a whole turn
L.I to know that the angle at a point is 360°
For math we were learning about angles, the angles that we learnt are obtuse, acute, right, straight and reflex. We also learnt how to use the angles in case we need them in life such as plumber and more. Obtuse means to be bigger, Acute is smaller, reflex is whole, right is a quarter and straight is half. We all learnt these things by doing them together as in doing them in real life. We also learnt these by using these math games: Angle Aliens Water gun

Narrative

LI: to write a quick narrative.
For writing we had to write a narrative about whatever we wanted. We had limted time to finish the narrative. We had 40 minutes to finish till it was end of the day. I wrote a story about two brothers that had powers, one had demon powers and the other son had spirit power.

For inquiry we were learning about structures international and in NZ. We also had to research information about the Panmure bridge and the Auckland harbor bridge and the bridges that we picked for international and in NZ. We got these information from web sites.

Swimming


For kiwi sport we had swimming, this was a great kiwi sport because we all got to know new swimming moves. We also got to use new things to use for our swimming. This photo is of the year fives getting ready to get on to the bus. For kiwi sport we were learning about how to get in safe like all the time and we did new things such as: sculling, floating on back and Back floating using noodle, board. First we were talking about Hypothermia vs hypothermia one is about getting too cold that you can maybe die and the other the same. The signs of some having Hypothermia and hypothermia is first blue lips, chatting teeth, getting confused and moving funny and talking funny.

For reading we were learning about how the Tengu was made. The Tengu is a type of defender of the forest that lived in the mid evil japan time. The Tengu is a myth because no one knows if he was alive or if he was fake, no one knew.

In Cyber Smart we were all learning about media means just like we were doing last term. We all got into little groups and watched video such as a movie trailer, advertisement and a news site. We had to do a word cloud about our blog, our own blogs that we have all made. We also wrote words that describe our blog like as in I am brainy.

Kiwi Can

For kiwi we were all talking about our topic which is goal setting and our theme which is resilience. In kiwi we were all sitting for lines two were full of girls and the other two were full with boys. We then got into our energizer which was snatch. The game was fun and got everyone energized. We then went into talking about what is goal setting and what does goal setting help us do. Also we talked about why goal setting is important. We then got into our activity which was octopus. this was a hard and fun game because the rules are hard to remember.

3d Shapes


L.I. to construct models of polyhedra using everyday materials.
For Maths we were learning about how to find the area for the shapes hat we are using and we also learn about how to make shape using the tooth picks and the glue tak. We learnt this by using the slide the our teacher made. We also learnt what vertices are and edges and faces.

Panmure bridge


L.I How have the changed and adapted to human need over time.
For inquiry we all learnt information about the Panmure bridge. We also learnt what structures there were built before this as in destroying the Panmure bridge and rebuilding it. We also had to research what years the bridge had to be rebuilt to carry what it carries now which is cars.

Narriative

LI: to write a quick narrative.
For writing we were learning how to write a narrative looking at a photo. We learnt what was some ideas from the brainstorm and the planner that we had done when we had our first writing session. We also learnt what some ideas were from the things that our teacher shown us. Link to Narrative

Swimming lessons

L.I to learn how to swim.
For kiwi sport we had swimming, this was a great kiwi sport because we all got to know new swimming moves. We also got to use new things to use for our swimming. This photo is of the year fives getting ready to get on to the bus. When we got to the pool there were three groups. I was in the first group. The group that i was in did: ladder entry, slide entry, float back kicking and float forward kicking. I only knew what my group was doing. We got to use floating boards to swim forward. We all had a great time swimming and learning how to swim.

For kiwi we were all talking about our topic which is goal setting and our theme which is resilience. In kiwi we were all sitting for lines two were full of girls and the other two were full with boys. We then got into our energizer which was snatch. The game was fun and got everyone energized. We then went into talking about what is goal setting and what does goal setting help us do. We then went into to the activity which was a pair game, (the name of this game was never said.) In this game the pair had to be boy and girl.
