The games we played were: hot potato, musical cones, color coordination, piddy piddy bop, and Simon says. All these games were hard but fun. We had points that we get through the term and we won but they said that the other class did.

Kiwi Can

THis week is the last proper week before it is fun week. This week we were talking about difference and about respecting how other people are. We can respect others that are, disabled or have allergies by helping them when they need something or to watch out for them. Not all people can eat animals or things that come from animals and they are vegans. We can help them by giving them the food they need and asking for what sort of things that goes into the food.

We had to get with a partner and we had to sit across from them. We then had to put one hand out flat like a plate and the other hand on the other persons hand that is flat like a plate and when one person says a word then you have to grab the fingers in your hand. Some people in the game will be impatient and just grab the finger and this helps with patience.

L.I to respect others and using respectful communication. For kiwi can we were learning about respectful communication. We played games that help us communicate respectfully to each other. The game we played was animal choir. We had to sing in groups using the animal that we are. Like for example if you were the tiger group then you had to go, "tiger tiger roar, tiger tiger roar, tiger, tiger roar, roar, roar." This game helped us communicate with each other to sing on time and to do it right. We then talked more about respectful communication.

L.I to respect our self and others.                                                                                                                We started off with the energizer which was where we had to Get into little groups and one person has to go and get the instructions from the teacher. The person that was leader had to rotate Around through different people. This game linked to leadership and how we can work as a team.                                                                                                                                                                                                        Then we played our activity which was tangle where we had to get into two groups and we had to get into a circle and hold peoples hands of people that are not next to you.  We then talked about what strengths and weakness's we have which means what we are good at and what we are not good at.

The other group had to three challenges where they had to get into little teams and all stand wth their back into the middle and then sit without falling or moving. We were talking about what we can to to get through our challenges. We also talked about what does dealing with challenges means. It means to not to go over it nor under it but go through to achieve it.                                                                                                                                                                                           For the activity we had to do a puzzle. We were given pieces and we had to make a cross with it but it was hard because you had to use all pieces. We had 2 minutes to complete it and no one had complete it. The puzzle was so hard that I will make one and see if anyone else can do it.  Puzzle

L.I to focus more (not to get distracted).                                                                                                    We learned how to not get distracted. Distracted is when you fall off focus. Many things can distract us like people talking or physically annoying each other. To learn about distractions we played a game called Distraction Circle. In the game one person stood in the middle and then the other four people do either singing to you, telling a story, Writing a number on your back and the person in the middle has to follow one persons actions.

Kiwi Can

L.I to learn about coping with challenges.                                                                                     Coping with challenges is what we are focusing for now. We talked about self control and self disciple but we went and looked at how we can cop with challenges. We also talked about what things we have to cop with when we are at school. Our energizer was Rats and Rabits. We had to partner with someone and then try to grab the cone before they do. We talked about how we cop with challenges.  Our activity is linked to how we cop with challenges. We had to complete four challenges in groups. Each challenges were not all easy to cop with.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The challenges were: do the catchphrase with new actions, write the alphabet backwards and doing five of burpees, push ups, sit ups and squats and put Maori words to English. The hard part of doing the fitness was that I was tired and I worked through this was by taking breaks. The hard part of the catch phrase is that we have to remember and come up with new actions with the catchphrase. The hard part of writing the alphabet backwards is that you have to say the alphabet and write it down backwards. The hard part of the matching Maori words to English words is that we have to sing the song of Maori colours.

Kiwi Can

L.I to learn all the topics that we learnt though the term.

For kiwi can are learning about our topic, responsibility. Responsibility is taking action when needed. For example leading a team to victory (That's what I do, I carry teams). Our catch phrase is, "Kiwi Can says: Responsible is what I am, and that's the way of Kiwi Can.

For the activity was not really a activity because we had to write down the three things that we need to work on and achieve before the end of the term.

After we had a reflection on what we had talked about during the session. We spoke as a group about different integrity we have against the school, home and community.

Kiwi Can

L.I to define what honesty is.
Catchphrase - Speak to me, truthfully, that is called, Honesty.
For kiwi Can we were learning about the big T (which is the theme) and small T (which is the topic). We had sat and talked about what is honesty is and how we use it then we got into the energizer. The energizer is, "Three Sports." this was a fun game because we were shown three sport moves that we have to do and if we do the same as the leader then we are out. This links to the honesty part so that if you did one move and its the same you dont change your move. In teams we had been given a situation where we had to act it out and this was the activity. My team is the team that was given the broken window situation where we had to act who was the person who is going tell why they broke it. This is a video of my team.

Final Kiwi Can Term 1

L.I to recap everything we did in kiwi can.
Today in Kiwi Can we recapped all of our learning from term 1. Our big theme was Positive Relationships. Our three modules were: Friendship, Co-operation and Positive communication.

We made three group. Each group talked about the five W's and the H for one module. After we talked as a group, each group shared their ideas back ti the class.

The thing that I enjoyed this term is the games that relate to the theme which makes the learning and doing a lot easy.
The one thing that I learnt this term is that you can communicate through different ways.
The thing that I have to work on is being confident.
