Explanation
LI- To plan and Write an Explanation.
A explanation is a writing but is how it works and why it happens. For example, "Why are there tsunamis?" The structure of a explanation that we use is, "TIMES." Which stands for: Title, Introduction, Main points, Explain visually and Summary. The other structure is, "TIIC." Which stands for: Title, Intro, Information and Conclusion. We also learnt about how is chocolate made because the explanation is about how is chocolate made. We had also learnt how to write a explanation.

Maori
L.I to learn the origins of the stars.
For Maori we were learning about the lonely star and about tango-tango who is one of the brothers in the story where the sons separate their parents. We had to make slide that I about what are Patupaiarehe. These people are not nice people to meet. We had to research about them.
Kiwi Can | Responsibility
L.I doing things without being asked.
For kiwi can are learning about our new topic, responsibility. Responsibility is taking action when needed. For example leading a team to victory (That's what I do, I carry teams). Our new catch phrase is, "Kiwi Can says: Responsible is what I am, and that's the way of Kiwi Can.
For the activity we had played a game which where we had to get into teams and have use a skipping rope and balance a ball on top as well doing tasks, I.E walk to the window and balance the ball on the skipping rope.
After we had a reflection on what we had talked about during the session. We spoke as a group about different responsibility's we have against the school, home and community.

Star dome trip
The star dome is a place that you can learn about space and other space related information. We first started at the space room where we had learnt about how far the planets really are and talk about our galaxy. We then went on to a quiz where we had to get into to groups and find the answer that is in the information to answer the question. Once we had finished we had to wait for the others and while waiting we had played angry birds the part that is in outer space because the star dome had it set up for someone to play with. We then went into the Planetarium which is where we learnt lots but the thing that amazed me was the betelgeuse which is a constellation which is called armpit in another language.

Forces
LI- What is a Force and How can we harness/use it?
In inqury we are learning about Force. We have to make a slide about Force. Force is a push motion that something or someone has on something. In our slide we talked about the meaning of force, air resistance, and the two natural forces. The two natural forces are Magnetic Forces and Gravitational Force. We were learning mostly about Gravitational Force. We learnt it by using equipment like sport balls to drop.

For basic facts we have to time our self and do a challenge which is either, Speed Demon or Brain box. We have to do the challenges up to: five, ten and twenty.

SSR Selfie
Grouping and place value
L.I to learn place value.
For Maths we had to learn about place value to do the standard algorithm. We had to learn place value using sticks and a place value house for us to learn how to subtract and add using place value. We had to do 806 - 307 and others which were easy when doing it with place value. We had to do subtraction place value for the must do. We had to multiply by 10, 100, 1 000, 10 000 and so on.
Cyber Smart
For cyber smart we are doing how to make a smart comment and what is in a smart comment. We had to comment on somebody blog and tell them what they need to work on but not in a negative way.

Cause and Effect
L.I to learn what cause and effect is.
Cause and effect is what we have been learning about and is fun to do. Cause is why something happens and effect is what happens. Words that are used in cause and effect is: because, when, if, when, in order to, therefore, this causes, this results in, as a result, consequently, the reason for and is that. We had to make a cause and effect on the whole LS1 class (which is how we work).
Kiwi Sport
L.I to develop body movements of balance, rotation and strength.
For a start we had to do stretches. The stretches we did were: L shape, Seal, Butterfly, cat, straddle and back, front, side support. On each we had to push our self to feel the burn. We had to do each of them for 10 seconds and move on to the next one.
We had three rotation the first rotation had: going backwards on the beam, cartwheel on the box, cart wheel on the stage and forward roll on the bench. The second rotation had: star jumping off the trampoline, backwards roll down, 1 leg/scorpion hand stand and the half/180 jump. For the trampoline jump we had to get a high jump and move into a star shape position. For the 180 turn we had to jump on the spring ramp and turn half way.
The last rotation had: Hand stand against the wall, front support, parallel bars and back/side/front rotation. For the hand stand against the wall we have to hand stand putting one foot on the wall and the other stretching out and then switch. We then ended with telling the most difficult part of the challenges.

Play break down

We had learnt about how to express our feelings using words. We have to read our character lines that we have chosen in a story. We are doing this as a play and will preform it without any paper or anything to read off. We had to find the expression that our character is doing and who is the character is saying the words to. The expressing for my character is a comedy expressing so he will be saying lines like, "Do you want to be the first person ever to lose teeth on the moon!" He says it like he is so bored the only word he can think of is bored.

Rocket Launching Places
L.I to learn about space.
For inquiry we are learning about space. We had to find definitions of words and they have to be about space or about rockets. Then we had to make this google map that is marking all the space centers that are still launching rockets into space and that their space ships are going above 100 km into space.
Role play
LI- To build expression.
In reading we are doing role play and learn our lines from last week. Our play was about, "Are you bored yet?" It is about six school kids that make a club to celebrate boredom. When we did our play it was nerve wracking but I tried to be funny so I don't get myself embarrassed. I thought that we were doing great with speaking clearly and other features. I thought that our remembering of our lines were off because sometimes we had to pause to remember.

Kiwi Sport
For kiwi sport we are doing gymnastics. In gymnastics we were learning about the different stretches and what stretches do for us. Stretches help us loosen our body muscles. It makes the muscles relax which makes us more flexible. Some of the stretches are: Butterfly flaps, L stretch, front support, back support and more. We then had to do three circuits (which are like levels).

Maori
L.I to learn the geography of Aotearoa.
Mount Maurganui is a mountain in Taranga. The Hunua and Waitakere ranges are mountains that have tribes living on them in Auckland. We had learnt about people like things, they are called Patupaiarehe. They are pal short and fairy people that had helped move a mountain.

Catchphrase - Speak to me, truthfully, that is called, Honesty.
For kiwi Can we were learning about the big T (which is the theme) and small T (which is the topic). We had sat and talked about what is honesty is and how we use it then we got into the energizer. The energizer is, "Three Sports." this was a fun game because we were shown three sport moves that we have to do and if we do the same as the leader then we are out. This links to the honesty part so that if you did one move and its the same you dont change your move. In teams we had been given a situation where we had to act it out and this was the activity. My team is the team that was given the broken window situation where we had to act who was the person who is going tell why they broke it. This is a video of my team.

Simple, Compound and Complex Sentences
LI- to show an increasing knowledge of how a range of text conventions can be used appropriately.
We had learnt about simple, compound and complex sentences. We had to complete two slides that we had to put word in to make simple sentences and compound sentences. There was a simple sentences slide and a compound sentences slide. Simple sentences are sentence that contain one idea like for example, I went to the park. Its simple and a compound sentence is joining to ideas using conjunctions. Conjunctions are FANBOYS which stand for: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet and So. A example of a compound sentence is, I went to the park but the park was wet.

Word Problems
LI: to learn part addition and place value addition.
Word problems are problems that are explained in words. We had four word problems we had to finish. We had to use place value adding and adding in parts. Place Value adding is adding the ones, tens, hundreds and thousands. Place value adding is the easier adding then adding in parts. Adding in parts is picking a number out of the one numbers that you have to answer and adding the other numbers to make the number you picked a tidy number.

Week 1 Maori
L.I to learn Maori myths and legends.
In Maori we were learning about the legend of Mt Manganui tells us how Mt Manganui get dragged to where it is currently is. Whaea Odie (Maori Teacher) read a book which is about how Mt Manganui was dragged. We used google maps to search from where it was to where it is now.
Apple 1 ad
L.I to use reading and research skills.
LS1 has made an ad for the first apple computer. We learned about how the apple 1 computer was built and who the inventors were. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were the two men who we fascinated by the first computer and created one together. We learnt this using our reading skills. Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs are known as the two Steve's. The two Steve's had joined a club called the Home-brew computer club.
